Rock Creek Retirement Village: Awards & Recognition

Rocky Creek Retirement Village's Management Team has been recognized as a leader in the field of aging and for our innovative approach in dealing with the needs of the elderly. The Florida Center on Aging located at Florida International University in Miami, as well as, the Policy Exchange Center at the University of South Florida in Tampa have studied the project and found it to be very inventive and a model for the future. Rocky Creek Village has also been recognized as aleader in the community by numerous organizations for promoting aging issues and doing something to make a difference. Rocky Creek Retirement Village was most recently written up in the Tampa Tribune for its work in creating a resourceful Intergenerational Program with our local schools. Through its work in this program, Rocky Creek Retirement Village recieved:

The Celebrate Literacy Award by the Hillsborough County Council of the International Reading Association
The EDDIE Award - Champion of Public Education by Hillsborough County Public Schools (the EDDIE [Excellence, Dedication, Devotion In Education]Award is compared to the Oscars for educational endeavors)
The Intergenerational Service Award - To recognize individuals and organizations whose efforts have improved the quality of life for the elderly [Reading Buddies Program]
A nomination for the SERVE Award - The David B. Frye Memorial for outstanding tutoring.
Rocky Creek Village's Management continues to find new and better ways in which to involve its residents in the community and we are proud to try and improve the quality of life for all seniors by setting higher standards here at Rocky Creek Village.
